Junior Business Development Associate

We're looking for a motivated and ambitious Junior Business Development Associate to join our team. This is a critical, outward-facing role focused on establishing and growing our strategic ecosystem of partners. You will be instrumental in forging relationships with the companies that power the restaurant world—from payments and Point of Sale (POS) systems to accounting and reservation software.

 

This role is perfect for a highly driven individual with 0–2 years of experience who is eager to break into the FinTech/SaaS space and learn the ins and outs of strategic partnerships.

Key Responsibilities
​​
  • Partnership Identification: Research, identify, and qualify potential strategic partners across the Canadian FinTech and restaurant technology landscape (e.g., payment processors, POS software, accounting platforms, marketplace apps).

  • Outreach and Relationship Building: Initiate contact with potential partners via email, phone, and professional networking to introduce Money Mesh and articulate our value proposition.

  • Pipeline Management: Manage and track all business development activities and partnership opportunities in our CRM system, ensuring timely follow-up and accurate reporting.

  • Support Negotiation: Assist the senior team in preparing for partnership meetings, drafting initial proposals, and supporting the negotiation of commercial and technical terms.

  • Market Intelligence: Stay informed on industry trends, competitive offerings, and new technologies in the restaurant, FinTech, and embedded finance spaces.

Bonus Skills (Good to Have)​

  • A foundational understanding of Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) and how software partnerships work.

  • Familiarity with financial concepts, including loans, lending, or working capital.

  • Exposure to APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) or how technical integrations between different software systems function.

  • Any experience or knowledge related to the Canadian restaurant industry or payment processing.

Location, Compensation, and Benefits

  • Location: Toronto, ON (Office required 2–3 days per week)

  • Annual Base Salary: C$55,000 - C$75,000

    • Note: The final salary offered will be commensurate with experience and skills.

  • Variable Commission/Bonus: Eligibility for a performance-based commission structure tied to achieving key partnership metrics and business development goals (details to be discussed).
